John Cranor, an experienced ASHI Certified Home Inspector as well as a Commonwealth of Virginia Certified Home Inspector.
John, a third generation roofer and home improvement contractor, first became interested in Home Inspections in the mid 1990's and soon after began sharpening his contractor know-how into inspection skills.
In 1998, John established Cranor Home Inspections. In October 2006, John made a business decission to re-name the business as Cranor Inspection Services, LLC.
John is an active member of the Central Virginia Chapter of ASHI.
John is a member and serves on the Board of Directors (BOD) for the Virginia Association of Real Estate Inspectors (VAREI).
John maintained a Commonwealth of Virginia Contractor's License in roofing, home improvements and Radon Mitigation up until 2005.
John has been in the inspection business for nine years (since 1998) but began working in the construction field more than twently-five years ago.
John has a background in roofing, routinely hires out as a roof inspector and has served as an expert witness.
John served on the ASHI Technical Committee for four years (2002 through 2005) and was chairman of that committee for three years.
John has served in leadership roles for many years on the (BOD) for the Central Virginia Chapter of ASHI including Vice President and President.
John served as a Subject Matter Expert, assisting in writing exam questions and participated in an exam review for the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors.
John is a speaker/educator of roof inspecting and has the respect of his peers.
John has been interviewed concerning home inspections and quoted in local and national print media numerous times.

John currently serves on the ASHI Standards of Practice Committee as Chairman and has since 2006.
In January 2006, John was recognized for his leadership efforts by the ASHI President and received a Special Service Award.
John has testified as an expert in roofing and in home inspections in both General district and Circuit Courts.
John has Chaired and Co-chaired the education committee for his local ASHI Chapter for several years.
